Bernie Williams Hits All the Right Notes at Fourth Annual Concert at the Vineyard
Selling out for the fourth year in a row, New York Yankee legend-turned-jazz musician, Bernie Williams and his Band of Friends brought the perfect blend of music, wine and philanthropy to Millbrook Vineyards & Winery (Millbrook Winery).
The concert kicked off with a special performance by a band composed of Dutchess Community College music education program students and alumni, setting the tone for a night that celebrated their talent and generosity. A cornerstone of the partnership between Williams and the winery is giving back – and this year, the generosity hit a high note. Millbrook Winery donated over $4,000 to Dutchess Community College to support its music education programs. The total included $10 of every ticket sold.
Acknowledging Williams’ continued contribution to the Dutchess County community through the donations to local schools, students and economic development, County Executive Sue Serino presented Williams with an official proclamation naming June 28 “Bernie Williams Day” in Dutchess County.
“Bernie’s Blend” wines, custom-created by Williams himself and Millbrook’s head winemaker, Ian Bearup, are still currently available for purchase on the Millbrook Winery website, while supplies last, in three varietals: a red wine blend, a Chardonnay and a Pinot Noir.
About Millbrook Winery
Established in 1982 on a former dairy farm in New York's Hudson River Valley, Millbrook Vineyards & Winery produces a range of high-quality wines. Guests are welcome for daily tastings in the restored Dutch barn, and guided tours are offered on weekends. Millbrook Vineyards & Winery was the first vineyard in the Hudson River Region of New York State dedicated exclusively to the production of vinifera grapes. Founded on principles of innovation and experimentation, today, it produces between 13-15,000 cases of wine annually. The 38 acres of vines include plantings of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Cabernet Franc, Tocai Friulano, Riesling, Grüner Veltliner, Gamay Noir, and Traminette. In addition to consistently earning top ratings on Trip Advisor, the winery is regularly recognized by publications such as Wine Spectator, The New York Times, and Bon Appetit Magazine.
