A trio of Broadway musical stars is coming together to perform at a benefit concert for Proyecto Faro, the Stony Point-based nonprofit that advocates on behalf of Rockland County's immigrant population.

The Dec. 6 concert at The Angel Nyack features Tony Award-winning composer Jason Robert Brown joined by 2025 Tony nominee Joy Woods (Gypsy, Little Shop of Horrors) and Drama Desk nominee Sierra Boggess (The Phantom of the Opera, Harmony, The Little Mermaid.

The concert will feature Brown performing selections from his celebrated songbook in Nyack for the first time in almost 30 years, alongside Woods and Boggess.

Jason Robert Brown

Brown is a composer, lyricist, conductor, arranger, orchestrator, director and performer best known for his scores for “The Last Five Years” (currently running on Broadway with Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren); his debut song cycle “Songs for a New World”; and “Parade,” winner of the 1999 Tony Award for Best Score and the 2023 Tony for Best Revival of a Musical.

“What my work speaks about most often is community — what makes someplace feel like home, feel safe?” said Brown, an Ossining native. “Since moving back to Rockland County four years ago, my family and I have been massively grateful for the community we’ve found here, an area of socioeconomic diversity, creative expression, and deep connection to this place and its history. Most importantly, we’ve been so moved by this community’s innate compassion, and nowhere has that been more apparent than in its connection to our immigrant communities.

He added: "Needless to say, those communities have been under attack for some time, and in the past year in Rockland County, those attacks have grown increasingly strident. Proyecto Faro is doing the work that needs to be done to strengthen that community, protect it, and stand in solidarity with its members."

Proyecto Faro ("Project Lighthouse") is an immigrant-led organizing effort allied with immigrant and non-immigrant religious and secular communities and organizations to galvanize support and action among those in Rockland County who feel insecure due to their immigration status.

The concert begins at 8 p.m.; doors open at 7:30 p.m. at The Angel Nyack, 18 S. Broadway, Nyack.

Concert tickets are $60 and up; concert tickets and reception with the artists, $150.
