The Arc Westchester, the largest organization providing services and supports to people with developmental disabilities in Westchester County, will celebrate the completion of major renovations at its Ann Manzi Center with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, September 25, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Center, 699 Main Street, Mount Kisco, NY.

“The Ann Manzi Center is a lifeline, offering vital daily support where people thrive and have a genuine connection with the Mount Kisco community. Like everyone else, people with developmental disabilities are living longer and it is becoming increasingly important to create environments that meet the needs of an aging population. The renovations at The Ann Manzi Center will provide an accessible connection from indoors to outdoors, creating a deeper appreciation with nature that will be shared by younger and older adults.” stated Tibi Guzmán, CEO of The Arc Westchester.

Situated on more than three acres of picturesque green space, the renovated Center features upgraded facilities and a natural setting that promotes wellness. Enhancements include a new accessible nature walking trail to encourage holistic health and physical activity, particularly for older individuals, an expanded car park, improved security and lighting, an upgraded entryway and awning, ADA-compliant bathrooms, as well as other essential functional and aesthetic upgrades. These changes are critical for the Center to continue providing the highest quality of service to those it supports.

Private support was instrumental in ensuring that this project would come to fruition as government funding for capital improvements typically covers only basic maintenance. Benefactors of The Arc Westchester Foundation, including the Manzi family, the Masket family, the Phelps Community Foundation, and the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation funded Phase II of the renovation.
