Veolia Helps Local Pantries Keep Up with the Holidays

From tap to table, Veolia North America is proud to deliver one of life’s most essential resources. During this holiday season, the company that provides water to 500,000 New York residents is grateful for the opportunity to partner with local organizations that help bring food to the tables of neighbors in need.

“When you have regular access to the basics like reliable water, food and shelter, it’s easy to start taking them for granted,” said Chris Graziano, Veolia’s Vice President and General Manager of New York Operations. “This time of year, we’re given a chance to pause and appreciate all we have. For this reason, it gives our employees and our company a true sense of ‘thanks giving’ to be able to share in a small way the comforts of home and a warm meal.” Throughout 2023, Veolia contributed a total of $45,500 in support of the following organizations:

Feeding Westchester

For over 35 years, Feeding Westchester has been helping hundreds of thousands of our neighbors fulfill one of life’s most fundamental needs. With Veolia’s support, the agency helped families in need of food assistance in New Rochelle and the surrounding communities. From June 2022 to June 2023, Feeding Westchester worked with 300 community partners to distribute over 21.1 million pounds of food to put nutritious food into the hands of those who need it most.

Meals on Wheels of Rockland

Veolia’s donation to Meals on Wheels Programs & Services of Rockland and their Home Delivered Meals Program contributed to the distribution of over 300 warm meals to seniors in low-income communities throughout Rockland County.

TOUCH

Together Our Unity Can Heal (TOUCH) shares Veolia’s passion for building sustainable communities. The organization is putting Veolia’s funding to work through a program designed to prevent hunger by reducing food waste. TOUCH is the lead agency for the Rockland Community Against Hunger (RCAH) Food Recovery Program, a unique and highly effective collaboration of non-profit agencies and public and private partners that serve diverse constituencies across Rockland County. In each of the past three years, the program has recovered over a million pounds of food from local retail stores and distributed at no cost to more than three dozen local food pantries.

Rockland Farm Alliance

Veolia’s sponsorship of the Rockland Farm Alliance (RFA) helped educate students on the benefits of responsible and sustainable community farming. Our contribution also funded a video created to spread awareness about the organization’s local efforts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LEF35U0w4s
