Rockland County Executive Ed Day and Department of Social Services (DSS) Commissioner Joan Silvestri are asking residents to help spread holiday cheer to all of Rockland County’s foster children and children served by DSS, by donating new, unwrapped toys, gift cards, and clothing for the 7th Annual Toy and Clothing Drive which will begin Friday, November 24th and run through December 19th.

The drive takes place each year to ensure that every child in Rockland County has a gift to open for the holidays. Toys and gifts are requested for children ages newborn to age 18 through Tuesday, December 19th.

“I appeal to those with the means to join us in supporting our 7th Annual Toy and Clothing Drive. Your contribution will make a significant difference in bringing warmth and joy to children facing tough times this holiday season,” said County Executive Day. “I extend my gratitude to each one of you for your generosity and unwavering support."

Commissioner Joan Silvestri of the Department of Social Services said, “Rockland’s children in foster care and those currently receiving our services are facing difficult life events and the holiday season is always particularly challenging. A donation of a toy or clothing can make all the difference in improving the lives of these children.”
