Hospice of Westchester Hosts 23rd Annual “Tree of Life” Reception
Community members gathered to honor and remember loved ones during the holiday season
Westchester Hills Golf Club in White Plains was filled with family and community members, and business leaders, celebrating life and the holiday season during Hospice of Westchester’s 23rd annual “Tree of Life” Reception on December 3.
Guests were invited to purchase a gold star in memory or in honor of a loved one and came together during the event to place the personalized stars on the “Tree of Life.” The evening’s festivities featured holiday entertainment provided by pianist Hiroshi Yamazaki, representing Music Conservatory of Westchester, as well as members of The Manhattan University Singers, directed by Andrew Bauer.
“For more than 20 years, our ‘Tree of Life’ reception has served as a bright light during a time of year that can be difficult for those who have lost a loved one or who have a family member receiving hospice services,” said Mary K. Spengler, RN, MS, LNHA, chief executive officer of HOW. “We look forward to this evening every year, and we are grateful for the continued support we receive from the community.”
The Grand Sponsors of the event were Beecher Flooks Funeral Home, Inc.; Co-Communications, Inc.; Michele Fraser Geller; Grassy Sprain Pharmacy; Next Level Private, LLC; PKF O’Connor Davies, LLP; Polchinski Memorials, Inc.; The Hildegarde D. Becher Foundation, Inc.; and Valley Bank. Sponsors included Cuddy & Feder LLP; Graphic Management Partners; Ross Mailing Services, Inc.; The Kensico Cemetery; and Westchester Hills Golf Club.
All proceeds from the event will benefit HOW’s mission of striving to provide extraordinary and dignified comfort, care and compassion to individuals and families facing a serious or life-limiting illness.
