The Workforce Development Board of Rockland County (WDBRC) officially opened the doors to its brand-new office location at 135 Main St, Nyack, NY 10960, with a vibrant ribbon-cutting ceremony. The new location marks a significant expansion of the organization’s capacity to provide vital workforce development, job training, and employment services directly to the local community.
The event was attended by key county and local officials, community leaders, and business partners who gathered to celebrate a new chapter for job seekers and employers in Rockland County.
Rockland County Executive Ed Day highlighted the economic and social impact the new location will bring to the area.
"The Workforce Development Board of Rockland has always been a cornerstone of career and economic opportunity in our county," said Rockland County Executive Ed Day. "Opening this new office in the heart of Nyack ensures that our residents have direct, local access to the tools they need to secure gainful employment, while simultaneously helping our local businesses find the skilled talent they need to thrive. This is a massive win for our workforce."
The new location on Main Street positions the WDRC in a highly accessible, walkable hub, allowing the organization to integrate deeply into the community.
"We are thrilled to welcome the Workforce Development Board of Rockland to downtown Nyack," said Nyack Mayor Joe Rand. "Main Street is the lifeblood of our village, and having an organization dedicated to empowering individuals and strengthening our local economy right here is incredible. We look forward to a long, impactful partnership that lifts up our entire community."
The new facility features modern career counseling spaces, support for job applications and resume building, and dedicated areas for workshops and employer recruitment events.
"This new location is the realization of a vision to make workforce services more accessible, modern, and community-centric," said Lynne Allan, Chairwoman of the Rockland County Workforce Development Board. "Our goal is to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity, and this office provides the perfect environment to do exactly that. We are ready to get to work helping both individuals starting or trying to advance their careers and businesses looking for top talent to grow and thrive in Rockland."
The WDBRC invites residents and local business owners to visit the new Nyack location to explore available resources, including job search assistance, resume writing workshops, vocational training opportunities, and specialized services for youth and veterans.
