“Yoga for Golfers” - Learning Symmetry and Balance at PXG Westchester

The recent "Yoga for Golfers" session hosted by PXG at their New Rochelle location, was an overwhelming success, leaving participants feeling invigorated and inspired to take their golf game to new heights. Led by Westchester-based yoga instructor Cindy Fritz of Cindrew Sanctuary in South Salem, the event attracted golf enthusiasts from around the county eager to learn proper ways to warm up and prepare before playing a round.

Under Fritz’s expert guidance, participants immersed themselves in an hour-long session designed to enhance their performance on the green. Through a series of purposeful movements and mindful breathwork, attendees discovered how yoga can improve balance, core stability, flexibility, and mental focus – essential elements for mastering the game of golf.

The event showcased the power of yoga to enhance athletic performance and promote overall well-being. Participants left feeling invigorated, inspired, and armed with valuable tools to elevate their golf game this season.

“With over 10 years of teaching experience, I believe that there is a place in all sports for yoga - in particular golf, as much of the sport works your body asymmetrically. In yoga, we always work in a symmetrical way; what we do on one side, we do on the other. So yoga can benefit golfers by improving balance and creating greater flexibility/mobility; as well as awareness of the breath,” says Fritz.

Cindy Fritz is a certified Vinyasa yoga instructor and brings a decade of experience as well as a wealth of knowledge and expertise. Trained at Quest Yoga Arts in Mt. Kisco, she began teaching by developing a 'Wellness in the Workplace' program while working as a mid-level manager for a large insurance company. She also teaches Kids, Chair, and Restorative Yoga and recently completed her meditation training, further enriching her holistic approach to wellness.
