If only the house on Route 66 could talk!

From Jan van Hoesen to Charles Marriott - from Slavery to Freedom. You’ve seen the dilapidated house on Route 66 next to the Dutch Village mobile home park in Claverack. You might even be aware of its provenance: Built by the Van Hoesen family in 1729, this house - a registered historic site - is one of only a handful of Dutch vernacular houses still in existence. But that is only half of the story .Join us on Sunday, March 9th, from 2pm to 4pm,  for an enlightening lecture by Historian Fergus Bordewich, author of Bound for Canaan: The Underground Railroad and The War for the Soul of America.

Free. Register on Eventbrite. In-person, but recorded, link sent to everyone who registers after event.
