Westchester County Marks 80th Anniversary of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) with Return of Diverse Abilities Job Fair

Back by popular demand, Westchester County’s Diverse Abilities Job Fair will return to Westchester County Center in White Plains on October 21. To date, the event has connected over 1,100 job seekers of varying skills and abilities with inclusive employers seeking to expand their workforce.

Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said: “Our series of Diverse Abilities Job Fairs has been a resounding success for job seekers and employers alike. Through in-person interviews, exploring job opportunities and connecting with resource providers – job seekers of all abilities have been able to discover employers that align with their skills and goals. Designing job fairs that are inclusive and intentional about their accessibility is a testament to our ongoing commitment to building a Westchester that works for all of our County’s residents.”

Westchester County Director of Policy and Programs, Small Business and Chambers of Commerce Shari Rosen Ascher said: “The positive response from returning and new employers for the upcoming Diverse Abilities Job Fair has been overwhelming. We are in the process of finalizing our list of exhibiting companies and participating resource providers, and I encourage companies that are looking for great talent and job seekers who are looking for a new opportunity to join us at the County Center on October 21.”
