Dutchess County-Poughkeepsie Land Bank Appoints Matthew Arbolino to Interim Executive Director
The Dutchess County-Poughkeepsie Land Bank Corporation (DCPLB) announced the appointment of Matthew Arbolino as interim executive director, effective August 19th, 2026. The appointment comes as DCPLB’s board of directors launches its regional search for a permanent executive director to lead the organization into its next chapter.
In addition to extensive consulting experience, Arbolino brings more than a decade of affordable housing, community development, and land bank programming experience across the Hudson Valley and New York State, having recently served as a senior project manager at New York State Homes and Community Renewal. There, he oversaw more than $20 million in state funding awarded to affordable housing projects and provided underwriting to land banks across the state. Prior to his work at the state level, Arbolino spent several years at Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh, first as an outreach coordinator and later as executive director. Arbolino worked directly with Newburgh Land Bank and the City of Newburgh to secure properties and funding for approximately 25 Habitat homes. He also managed an $8 million annual operating budget and secured more than $4.5 million in grant funding, including the organization’s largest ever single donation.
“Housing and land use have driven my professional work for more than a decade,” said Arbolino. “I’m honored to bring that experience to DCPLB during this transition and look forward to supporting the communities the organization serves while the board identifies its next permanent leader and positions itself for exciting growth ahead.”
Currently residing in Newburgh, Arbolino holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut, as well as a master’s degree from Antioch University. The DCPLB’s board expects to conclude its search for a permanent executive director by the end of the year.
