Westchester Computers for Kids, a non-profit organization dedicated to bridging the digital divide for underserved children and families in Westchester County, proudly announces its first successful computer distribution. The organization, founded by Harvey School Junior, Logan Alexander, recently provided six donated computers to two esteemed local partner agencies, Yonkers Partners in Education and Neighbors Link.

In today's digital age, access to technology is crucial for educational success and 50 percent of low-income families in the U.S. lack the basic digital resources required for online education. Westchester Computers for Kids aims to make an impact by transforming discarded electronics into empowering tools for underserved and disadvantaged communities.

Logan Alexander, the founder of Westchester Computers for Kids, expressed his gratitude for the support received from the generous donors who made the computer distribution possible. "Our vision is to both raise awareness and increase access to the digital tools Westchester children need to succeed in school and beyond. The first distribution is a step toward realizing that vision, and we are committed to expanding our reach to make a lasting impact on the lives of many more children," said Alexander.

The partner agencies, Yonkers Partners in Education and Neighbors Link, play a crucial role in facilitating the distribution to ensure that the computers reach those who would benefit the most.

Sam Wallis, Executive Director of Yonkers Partners in Education explained “We know that access to technology is key to student success. The devices donated by Westchester Computers for Kids will be put to good use helping students with their schoolwork, applying to college, and navigating jobs and internships. Thank you for making this possible!”

Daniela Valdovinos, Volunteer Manager at Neighbors Link, expressed gratitude by saying, “Neighbors Link is excited to partner with Westchester Computers for Kids. The organization's work brings much needed resources to the immigrant families we serve and assists us in our efforts to expand digital literacy. Thank you, Westchester Computers for Kids!”

Westchester Computers for Kids remains dedicated to its mission of empowering underserved communities through technology. The organization encourages community members and businesses to join in the effort to bridge the digital divide. To donate a computer, visit https://www.westchester.kids/donate.
