Big Laughs to Benefit Dutchess County Youth

This post expresses the views and opinions of the author(s) and not necessarily that of Hudson Valley News & Events management or staff.

The Council on Addiction Prevention and Education (CAPE) invites the community to a Comedy Show fundraiser to support youth addiction prevention programs in Dutchess County. Proceeds will allow the nonprofit to continue its outreach to young people locally and to educate them about risky behaviors and the affects of substance abuse and underage drinking.

On Saturday, November 12, Crazy Gene Trifilo will emcee the event featuring headliner Joey Callahan and comedian John Iavarone at the Poughkeepsie Elk’s Lodge 275, 29 Overocker Road, Poughkeepsie, New York. Tickets will be available at the door for $25 cash or $30 if purchased with credit or debit card. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP ahead of time by emailing comedyshow@capedc.org or calling (845) 765-8301 x 100. A cash bar and snacks will be available.

“Not only is comedy a great way to bring people together, but it’s also a great way to raise awareness for our local prevention programs and the good they do for our youth,” said Cristine Groenewegen, agency director of CAPE.”

About the Council on Addiction Prevention & Education (CAPE)

Founded in 1987, the Council on Addiction Prevention & Education (CAPE), formally the Dutchess County Council on Alcoholism and Chemical Dependency, Inc, was established to meet the growing need for Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug (ATOD) prevention and education services in Dutchess County.
