Palisades Center to Host Nanuet School District's Art and Culture Event

Palisades Center will host the 8th Annual Nanuet School District Art Department Exhibition in partnership with Nanuet & Beyond and the Greater Nanuet Chamber of Commerce. Eighteen of Palisades Center's businesses will collectively display 100 works of art from Nanuet students ranging from kindergarten to 12th grade. This year's art pieces are themed, Anything is Possible.

The works of art will be on display from March 18-April 1 in the following storefront windows:
5Wits, 7-Eleven, AMC Theatres, Ardene, Best Buy, BRIDGES, Color Me Mine, GAP, Good Game Lounge, Jellio World, Macy’s (3 boards), Old Navy, Pepper Palace, Sephora, Slime World,
Space Adventure Glow-in-the-dark Mini Golf, Spin Zone and Yard House.

Parents, students, and the community are encouraged to create their own Anything is Possible art walk using the online map and list of stores on www.palisadescenter.com, www.nanuetandbeyond.org, and www.nanuetchamber.com. Following the live event, a virtual exhibit will be made available.

"Community outreach has been an important initiative of Palisades Center and the Center businesses participating in this event," said Darrin Houseman, General Manager of Palisades Center. "It is an honor to host Nanuet School District’s Art and Culture Event again this year. Our guests will love viewing the works of art from these extremely talented kids!"

"Looking back on the past three school years, Anything is Possible is the most perfect theme for the 8th Annual Nanuet School District Art and Cultural Exhibition at Palisades Center," said Dr. Kevin R. McCahill, Superintendent of the Nanuet Union Free School District. "Art and cultural celebrations are limitless and reflect the power of the human spirit. There is no better way to listen to the hearts and minds of our future generations than to experience how they express themselves through art and cultural expressions. The Nanuet Union Free School District is blessed to have brilliant teachers who inspire our student-artists coupled with such deep relationships in the Nanuet community. Thank you to our partners, Nanuet and Beyond and the Palisades Center for amplifying the voices of our Knights! We are all so proud of our artists!

"Nanuet & Beyond is a non-profit organization created to support and provide educational opportunities for our youth that enhance existing program experiences both within and outside the classroom," said George Mollo, President of Nanuet and Beyond. "Promoting the advancement of art in our classrooms and community through programs like The Nanuet School District’s Art and Culture Event has always been a goal. We thank Palisades Center and the companies showcasing the art this year. Any donations received because of this event will go back to the community through donations and scholarships."

"The Greater Nanuet Chamber of Commerce is grateful to Palisades Center’s businesses for hosting the Art and Culture Event this year," said Jerry Tuchband, President of The Greater Nanuet Chamber of Commerce. "We encourage the community to view the artwork located throughout Palisades Center and donate what they can to Nanuet and Beyond for future student programs and scholarships."

A reception will take place on Friday, April 1 from 6:30pm-8:30pm in the East Court on Level One.
