24th Annual Rockland Philanthropy Day Breakfast to Celebrate the Spirit of Giving on November 7th
The Fostering Philanthropy Fund, a component fund of the Rockland Community Foundation, will hold the 24th annual Rockland Philanthropy Day event on Thursday, November 7, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Crowne Plaza, Suffern, NY. A highlight of the program will be a keynote presentation by Bob Murray, Provost of St. Thomas Aquinas College in Sparkill.
Philanthropy Day 2024 is brought to you in partnership with the Rockland Community Foundation Advisory Board, The Fostering Philanthropy Fund, past board members of the Rockland Development Council and other caring community members. The Philanthropy Day Breakfast is an opportunity to celebrate a commitment to enhance the quality of life and giving in Rockland, and to honor the individuals and businesses who make this possible.
Nominations for this year’s Philanthropy Day Awards are open. Anyone can be nominated. A co-worker, donor or friend – as long as they meet the criteria of the category.
New for 2024: The following awards will be distributed to/on behalf of this year’s winners:
Youth in Philanthropy Award – $500 award to the winner (if there are multiple winners $1,000 to be divided among them) to be used to continue the winner’s education or philanthropic goals. The fund advisors have the discretion to distribute the funds for any minor (under 18) to the winner’s parent or legal guardian.
Fundraising Professional of the Year/Corporate Donor of the Year/Volunteer of the Year/
Philanthropist of the Year – $500 will be donated to a Rockland nonprofit of the winner’s choice. One donation of $500 per category.

The Fostering Philanthropy Fund
The mission of the Fostering Philanthropy Fund is to continue the important work that the Rockland Development Council (RDC) has accomplished in Rockland County since 1999. The fund, stewarded by The Rockland Community Foundation, perpetuates RDC’s signature Philanthropy Day event, providing an opportunity to honor philanthropic community members and organizations as well as to provide an impactful message on the power of philanthropy. The fund may also be used for other activities which will educate, support and inspire individuals in the field of fundraising, encourage community collaboration, and promote philanthropy.
