The worldwide phenomenon known as speedcubing is coming to Palisades Center! Competitors of all ages and nationalities will take the stage on Saturday, April 15, in the East Court on Level One for a mind-blowing, fast-paced puzzle-solving competition.

First released in 1980, the Rubik’s Cube is a classic toy that has captivated the attention of millions with its simple appearance but a deceptively tricky challenge. Speedcubers can solve the classic cube in as little as five seconds through practice, sharpening spatial intuition, and learning algorithms. In addition to the classic 3x3 cube, competitors will solve the 2x2, 4x4, 5x5, and pyraminx puzzles.

Notable competitors, including the global top 10 ranked Tymon Kolasinski (Poland) and Patrick Ponce (United States), will attend.

For the full competition schedule, visit the World Cube Association’s website. The competition is sponsored by TheCubicle.com.

"We’re excited to welcome Speedcubers, their families and fans to Palisades Center," said Darrin Houseman, General Manager of Palisades Center. "We look forward to hosting the competition and watching speedcubing records happen!"

"We’re really excited to bring speedcubing to such a unique venue. We hope that everyone can set personal bests, make new friends, and enjoy Palisades Center," said Phil Yu, Chief Executive Officer of TheCubicle.com. "If you’re curious about solving a Rubik’s Cube, don’t be afraid to try it! It’s a great hobby that people of all ages and backgrounds can really enjoy."
