Spring invites people back outdoors – looking for fun ways to enjoy the warming weather. Monday, March 20th, the first day of Spring, was the perfect day to officially welcome Pedego Electric Bikes to the village of Nyack and Rockland County, the first Pedego shop in New York. The new shop is located at 73 south Franklin Street in the center of Nyack.
Pedego is the #1 US seller of electric bikes, also known as “e-bikes.” The bikes have a motor and battery, enabling cyclists to pedal more easily, go faster, climb hills more comfortably and ride longer than possible on a traditional bike.
“Whether you’re looking for adventure, an easier commute, or a fun outdoor activity, Pedego can help find the bike for you,” said Pedego owner Simon Kaff.
The appeal is broad-- attracting experienced cyclists, novices, and ‘day trippers’ of all skill levels, as well as older adults and those with physical limitations. Uses ranging from getting to a bus stop or train station quickly or getting outdoors for some fresh air, to biking across one of the longest shared use paths in the country -- the 3.6-mile Mario M. Cuomo Bridge Path.
The Pedego Electric Bikes company has over 230 stores globally and is growing fast as people are eager to get outdoors post-pandemic and looking for ways to reduce their carbon footprint. Kaff owns the Rockland County territory and hopes to open more stores in the future.
Kaff’s Pedego shop offers a complete line of e-bikes for sale, with prices ranging from $1,995 - $6,000 and a wide variety of customizable features to ensure a perfect fit and style for every customer.
Rentals are also an option that promises to be widely popular with both Nyack residents and visitors eager to enjoy Nyack’s scenic trails, paths along the riverside in Nyack Beach State Park and breathtaking views of the Hudson from the Cuomo bridge.
Local private and group bike tours are in the works and will be available soon.
Kaff, who tried his first Pelego bike on a vacation in Arizona and fell in love, can’t wait to spread the joy to future customers. “When a customer buys a bike from me, I know in my heart that I‘ve helped them in a way that no other product can. It’s an experience I can’t even describe,” says Kaff.
