How did you get to be in the job you have now?
Hard work and practice!

What career did you think you would have when you were in high school?
The one I have. I knew I would always be in show business!

What was the best advice you ever received?
From The Magic of Believing by Claude M. Bristol: Set Your Mind on a Goal like a Homing Pigeon and go after it with dogged determination. I read that on August 5th, 1974 and committed to moving to New York five years from that date. I was 13. I moved to NY five years from that date on August 5th 1979 at 18 years of age!

What piece of advice would you give to college seniors?
Every day we all make choices, big and small, and they change all the time. But surrounding these daily choices are decisions we’ve made about our lifestyle that play the major role in our well-being, and especially our health. Know that each choice you make is YOURS! Own them, embrace them, be proud of them, and live with them, and celebrate the outcome.

Do you have a particular charity you support? And why?
Entertainment Community Fund (formerly The Actors Fund) Here is their mission: The Entertainment Community Fund fosters stability and resiliency and provides a safety net for performing arts and entertainment professionals over their lifespan. Many artists give of themselves their entire lives. Most people have misconceptions about the amount of money made (or not!) in this business. Many at the end of long careers have ended up with very little monetarily. The Entertainment Community Fund is there for them.

Do you have a personal goal for 2023?
Yes. I have spent my entire career celebrating others and putting the spotlight on them and their body of worth. This year, I'm shining the spotlight on myself! So thank you, Risa, for this great opportunity which is very much in alignment with my goals!

Do you feel you have a good work/life balance? If so, why or how did you achieve that?
Yes. I am fortunate to have a great husband and friends from all age groups and walks of life. I make the time for both definitions of entertaining if you know what I mean.

When you feel stuck, how do you recharge yourself or get inspired?
I read a lot, I meditate, I walk. I do my Morning pages (Thank you Julia Cameron, The Artists' Way). I read books of inspiration.

Do you have a hobby? If so, what is it and how did you get into it?
My work and hobby are one and the same!

Do you have a habit you wish you could break?
Comparing myself to others.

Name one thing you are working towards in 2023.
Getting myself back on the boards with live performing and getting ME back in the spotlight.

What one thing would you try (or do) if you weren’t afraid?
Make more calls for backers and sponsorship!

If money wasn’t a concern, what would you be doing right now?
Investing more into every aspect of my career that needs attention.

Name one or two of your favorite movies.
The Wizard of Oz, Mame, Auntie Mame

Name one or two of your favorite books? And why.
The Magic of Believing (Changed my Life), The Artists Way (and all the other books) by Julia Cameron

What do you want your legacy to be? Or how do you want to be remembered?
That I loved life, that I celebrated others, that I cared!

Is there anything else you would like to share about your work or interests?
I'm available to Emcee or Host your next event!
