Pro/Amateur Race to Benefit the Penguin Plunge Organization

Palisades Autobahn Indoor Speedway and Orange County Fair Speedway are proud to host a Charitable Pro-Am Race on Thursday, January 26th 2023. The event will take place at the Palisades Mall, West Nyack, NY. This is a charitable event with all proceeds going to Penguin Plunge of Nyack. A Night of Fun, Race for a Cause!

The Opening Ceremonies will start at 7:00 pm followed by an Invitational Match Race. Orange County Executive Steven M. Neuhaus, Rockland County Executive Ed Day, County Sheriffs: Rockland Lou Falco, Orange Paul Arteta, Paul Borghese (movie actor/director,) Jeff Lewis (morning radio host at WRCR 1700) and Jay Hood, Chairman of the Rockland County Legislature will compete in a three-lap go-kart race for fun and bragging rights. "While gaining bragging rights for winning the race is fun and brings a certain sense of satisfaction, the true winners are those young people who benefit from the Penguin Plunge. To the extent that our presence in the race brings in additional donations that helps these children deal with the daily challenges they face each and every day, well, that alone makes me feel like a winner," said Ed Day.

Professional drivers from Orange County Fair Speedway and other racing venues will compete against drivers from Autobahn Racing Leagues including race fans. All drivers must be at Autobahn by 5:30pm. There is a Driver's meeting at 6:00pm and races start at 7:00pm. Drivers must follow the rules of the Autobahn Indoor Speedway and pay a $50.00 registration fee. There will bea "Play-Off" format.

Orange County Fair Speedway Drivers committed to participate: Brett Hearn, Tommy Meier, Tim Hindley, Anthony Perrego, Craig Mitchell, Billy V., Cody Higbie plus many other OCFS drivers. Special Award: Fastest time in Qualifying $30. Gift Card to the Yard House.

Orange & Rockland Utilities Company is proud to be the title sponsor of this event and supporting the Penguin Plunge. O&R is the Utility Company supplying reliable energy to both the counties of Orange and Rockland.

Besides being a dependable utility company, Orange and Rockland has a strong community involvement program supporting many non-for-profit organizations. There are many local businesses sponsoring this event and we thank you. An after-race celebration will take place at the Yard House in the Palisades Mall.

Spectators are welcome to this charitable event. A $15.00 donation will go to the Penguin Plunge. Doors for spectators will open at 5:30pm to attend the Silent Auction and extensive Tricky Tray.

The Nyack Penguin Plunge (a 501c3 organization) is an all volunteer charity that helps local children who have serious medical challenges. The Penguin Plunge's main fundraiser takes place on Sunday, March 5t\ 2023, where people take a swim in the icy cold Hudson River, while donating money for the recipients.

This year all proceeds will benefit (4) four young children who have serious health conditions. Last year we raised $10,000 at the Autobahn event and the Penguin Plunge raised more than $100,00. for two children. "Our goal is to raise $12,000 at this event to benefit the children of the Penguin Plunge!" said Peter Reynolds, Event Coordinator.
