On Friday, November 11, the United States of America will celebrate Veterans Day by honoring and paying respect to our Veterans for their patriotism and willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. This year, Palisades Center has collaborated with tenants and partners to do the same.

"We welcome all service members, Veterans and their families and friends to Palisades Center," said Darrin Houseman, General Manager of Palisades Center. "Veterans Day is a great way to celebrate our local heroes and bring recognition and awareness to their work and the sacrifices they made for us."

Operation Green Light
Operation Green Light is a national collaborative initiative of the National Association of Counties (NACo) that supports military Veterans and raises awareness about their unique challenges and the resources available to assist them. Residents and businesses will light their homes and offices green on Veterans Day to let Veterans know they are seen, appreciated, and supported. Palisades Center’s BRIDGES, an Independent Living Center dedicated to advocacy and leadership for people with disabilities, is giving away green light bulbs at their location on Level Two in support of Operation Green Light. The light bulbs are available from now until November 10.

Rockland Buffalo Soldiers Veterans Day Recognition
On Friday, November 11, at 10:00 am, the Rockland Buffalo Soldiers will hold an honorable Veteran service within Mount Moor Cemetery to acknowledge the Veterans interred at the Cemetery. Mount Moor Cemetery is accessible by the F-Lot at Palisades Center near Dick’s Sporting Goods.

The mission of the Rockland County Buffalo Soldiers is to preserve the history and tradition of the Buffalo Soldiers. The group, comprised of past and present Military Personnel, focuses on encouraging the well-being of all Veterans and creating a forum where Veterans can share their knowledge and experiences, building a stronger community.
