RCC Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month

As an Hispanic Serving Institution, Rockland Community College is proud to celebrate the history and culture of the Latinx community from September 15 through October 15. The month-long celebration honors individual traditions while also recognizing what unites us. This year’s theme—Unidos: Inclusivity for a Stronger Nation—reinforces the need to ensure diverse voices and perspectives are welcomed in decision-making processes; therefore, helping to build stronger communities and a stronger nation. The Hispanic Heritage Month Committee is proud to provide the RCC community with an array of in-person and virtual activities for the month, such as:

  • Student vs. Staff Kickball Game
  • Latinx Leadership Conference
  • Somos El Futuro Club Meet and Greet
  • Movie Night
  • Weekly Newsletter
  • Keep Rockland Beautiful - Community Service Event
  • Themed Window Painting at the Atrium
  • Hispanic Literary Celebration
  • RCC Hawks vs OCC Colts Soccer Clasico (All attendees will be entered in a raffle for a chance to win Red Bull tickets)

A display of Hispanic and Latino Culture will also be at the library from September 29 through October 15; an accompanying digital guide can be accessed through the online portal.
