OnPoint Learning announced today that it is hosting a live, virtual webinar series called Starting a Cannabis Business. The series consists of five one-hour webinars starting on September 14th and running through early October. It covers preparing to apply for a license, pitching investors, creating security and operating plans, accounting and tax regulations, and banking & payment processing. The virtual webinar dates are September 14th, 15th, 21st, 28th, and October 5. The cost of admission is $45 per webinar with a 25% discount if you register for all five. Each webinar will include a 45-minute presentation from one of our industry experts followed by 15 minutes of Q&A. Registration includes access to a recording of the webinar. You can find more information and register HERE.

Each presenter has extensive experience in helping entrepreneurs launch successful cannabis businesses. Duncan Delano is a cannabis regulatory, commercial real estate and general business lawyer at Emerge Law Group with over 11 years of experience practicing law. Allison Kirschhofer founded Accounting By Design with the mission to support New York and New Jersey's trail-blazing cannabis entrepreneurs and is also a co-founder and director of the New York Consortium of Cannabis Accountants. Dr. Lucas C. McCann is the co-founder and Chief Scientific Officer at CannDelta Inc., a cannabis consulting firm with offices in New York, New Jersey, and Toronto. Michelle Mattice is the National Sales Vice President at Joint Venture Pay, a payment processing company specializing in the hemp & cannabis industries.

According to Dr. Sue Raftery, “developing credible training for the Cannabis industry is critical. Regulators have rushed to license companies, but these licenses are more focused on integrity than competency. Regulation certifies that the product is inspected and meets agricultural quality standards, yet none exist today. We are beginning the process of building a qualified, skilled workforce to support the myriad of products being developed from Cannabis and Hemp plants.”
