Join PPLD Local History Librarian Kira Thompson on ZOOM as we explore the centuries-old history of Poughkeepsie’s waterfront area. From transportation to commerce to recreation, the waterfront’s geography and relationship to Poughkeepsie has been ever-changing, but it remains a vital part of the city. In this talk, we will use maps and other primary source materials from our collection to explore what once resided along the Hudson, from the time of the first colonial settlers to the dawn of the 20th century.
