City Winery Hudson Valley presents Annalyse & Ryan Present: The Songwriter's Lounge with special guests Wheatus Acoustic, Gabrielle Sterbenz, and Deni Bonet & Chris Flynn on December 5th, 2024, at the Boiler Room Bar at 7:00PM.
WHEATUS ACOUSTIC
Born and bred on an island as densely populated as Montreal, minus the culture, Brendan B Brown did what Andrew Carnegie did: he beat the odds. Brendan took his father’s nickname “wedus” to New York City at the age of 22, and formed “Wheatus,” becoming known in some circles as the greatest band to play Mercury Lounge. They eventually signed to Columbia Records, who released their first two records. Kinda… After the major label life and the success of Wheatus’s debut single “Teenage Dirtbag,” Wheatus released five more records before their renaissance, set off by One Direction covering “Teenage Dirtbag”. Since then, their songs have been covered by Phoebe Bridgers, Weezer, Sza, Jax, Ruston Kelly, and they have toured with Dashboard Confessional, Living Colour, Everclear, Bowling For Soup, and many more.

GABRIELLE STERBENZ
Americana singer-songwriter, Gabrielle Sterbenz, got her start singing Gospel music in her Long Island high school. Desperate to leave her hometown and pursue her dreams, Gabrielle hatched a plan to graduate a year early, and then moved to New York City.
While writing and recording her own music, Gabrielle worked as a backing vocalist on late night television, for Mike Doughty, Robbie Dupree, and most notably, Wheatus (of Teenage Dirtbag fame). This year, Gabrielle performed her music in every state in the lower 48, as direct support on Wheatus’ US acoustic tour.
Gabrielle will soon release her second full-length album.
