Named for that most iconic of songs, the band Freebird has delighted fans of the one and only Lynyrd Skynyrd for over 20 years with their impeccable live performances of all the great Skynyrd classics.

Freebird’s guitarists Mike Dwyer and Kenny Mades trade off on the riffs of Allen Collins, Gary Rossington, Ed King and Stevie Gaines. Keyboardist Jim Sotis captures the honky tonk stylings of Billy Powell. Bassist Jim Maloney and drummer Mike Gallino hold the rhythm section just as tight as Leon Wilkeson and Artimus Pyle did. All while lead vocalist Al Mazzone perfectly delivers the soulful, gritty song stylings of Ronnie Van Zant.

“We want the Skynyrd fans that come see us to get up and dance, hoot an’ holler and have a great time,” says Jim Maloney. “We put every ounce of energy into our performances. If we’re not tired and sweaty after a show, then we didn’t do our job.”
