See what makes children ask, "Can I live here?"

Join us for this insightful workshop that takes a look behind the curtain of Strawtown’s 20+ years of programming.

Advance your own practices for confidently leading children and groups in experiences that provide a safe space, wonder-filled adventure, and artful skill-building, all while drawing closer to the natural world.

You will:

  • Explore ways to define your program by being in touch with your natural surroundings and creating place-based lessons.
  • Learn the basics of outdoor safety, selecting your site, and creating group adherence.
  • Practice imaginative staging to invite participation and engagement.
  • Find inspiration for how to nurture a sense of togetherness while furthering self-discovery.
  • Gain principles of creative response to challenges, staying curious and imaginative while moving through difficulties.
  • Play with dialogue that encourages sensitivity, imagination, and shows participants they are seen and appreciated.

For all who are looking to deepen their nature connection and guide others in creative learning experiences: educators, artists, parents, grandparents, youth leaders, community builders, healing arts practitioners, and more.
