CREATE Gallery to Host Series of Children’s Book Illustrator Readings

CREATE Gallery Exhibit Dates: Saturday June 18th through Sunday Aug. 7th, 2022, Opening reception - Saturday, June 18th from 4-6pm

The Hudson Valley boasts an impressive number of prestigious children’s book illustrators who call this region their home. A new exhibit at CREATE Council on the Arts gallery, “Picture This! From Painting to Page”, spotlights just a sample of these internationally renowned artists. A series of six readings and talks by the artists themselves promises to be entertaining and informative for people of all ages.

Featured works include those by such acclaimed and prolific illustrators as Meryl Learnihan, Laura Rader, James Ransome, Esme Shapiro, Hudson Talbott, and Rodney Alan Greenblat. Seeing the illustrations in the context of the gallery allows the viewer to look anew at the artistry involved in creating their beloved picture books. CREATE invites the public to hear the artists read from their books and discuss their work in person during talks to be held every Saturday from June 25 to July 30, 11:30-12:30am.

(June 23rd, July 2nd, July 9th, July 16th, July 23rd & July 30th)
