Journalist-poet Paul Smart will read from his new book, “With Different Eyes: A COVID Waltz in Words & Images” with a discussion. Smart’s book charts an emotional journey documenting the spread of the pandemic through the trials of lockdown, school closures, mass unemployment, and the protests that followed in the wake of the killing of George Floyd alongside an escalation of institutional violence as Donald Trump sought reelection. The event is being held to coincide with Upstate Arts Weekend.
