Step Inside Rockland's Past at the Historic Homes & Landmark Tour of Piermont and Sparkill

This October, in celebration of Rockland History Month, the Historical Society of Rockland County (HSRC) and the Piermont Historical Society will open the door to some of the area’s most storied homes, landmarks, and sacred spaces during the Historic Homes and Landmark Tour of Piermont and Sparkill.

The tour, themed “Piermont Places & Sparkill Spaces,” will take place on Saturday, October 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in and around the Rockland Road Bridge Historic District, known as “The Birthplace of Piermont.” Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the district is the oldest and most historic section of Piermont and includes many buildings that retain their 18th- and 19th-century character, including the oldest house in the village.

Guests will experience historically significant buildings, private residences, and important sacred spaces in Piermont and Sparkill, including several sites listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The annual tour, a tradition for more than 50 years, raises funds for HSRC while highlighting the history, architecture, and enduring charm of Rockland County’s built environment.

The self-guided tour is sponsored by Beckerle Lumber and Home Centers and is presented through the collaboration of the Piermont Historical Society and HSRC.

• Tickets: Advance reservations are $45 per person; day-of-event tickets are $50 per person.
