Leading NJ Wedding Venue Finishes Significant Renovation
The Crystal Plaza, located in Livingston, NJ, is known throughout the Tri-State as one of the leading wedding and event spaces. Last year, the COVID-19 pandemic had unfortunately led to some postponed events, but the venue took advantage of its closure as an opportunity to undergo a massive renovation. By embracing the crisis, The Crystal Plaza has enhanced its offerings to create an even more luxurious space with impressive state-of-the-art amenities. The fourth-generation family-owned and operated venue is ready to serve customers again and is kicking off the season by revealing the new renovations to the public this month.
“We’re excited that our vision has come to fruition,” states Max Janoff, Managing Partner of the Crystal Plaza Group. “It took meticulous planning to preserve the history of the venue while introducing design trends that are imagined today. We invited the outdoors in by incorporating natural light throughout the main ceremony space with the addition of a glass atrium-style ceiling, wide open windows, and a balcony overlooking our three-acre gardens. In addition, brides and grooms now have access to an exquisitely appointed Penthouse Suite, The Vault, Grand Corridor, and array of exclusive amenities.”
Founded in 1917, the historic Crystal Plaza was originally a residential mansion built in the late 1800s by famed architect Stanford White. Through the renovations, The Crystal Plaza still maintains the feeling of its 19th century grandeur, making it a distinct and picturesque setting for all occasions. Sitting on 5-acres of breathtaking grounds, the venue offers the perfect blend of Traditional Old-World Elegance and Modern-Day Luxury.
Renovated rooms include The Atrium, located on the second level, which is a multi-purpose space with a contemporary feel. The space features white and silver Italian hardwood flooring, providing a fresh and bright atmosphere for any event. A notable feature of The Atrium is the unobstructed fifty-foot skylight as well as its significant crystal chandeliers, tapping into the elegance The Crystal Plaza emulates so well.
The newly updated Penthouse encompasses everything one would need in private suite. The 3,000 square foot space features a lounge area with a full bar, allowing guests to be comfortable while getting ready for any bride’s big day. The Salon area is stocked with manicure stations, makeup chairs and plenty of wardrobe space where any bride to be can successfully prepare for the day’s events.
One of the key areas that was added during last year’s expansion has been the new Corridor located in the rear lobby of Crystal Plaza. This new elegant passageway connects guests from the front of the building to nearly every room within Crystal Plaza, and allows access to the pristine gardens directly through the rear of the building. Also to be mentioned is the Garden Room, a covered indoor-outdoor patio space is separated by sliding glass doors from the Living Room. Another striking addition to The Crystal Plaza is the Vault, located on the sub-level. This space is not yet complete, but guests can look forward to using the space as a Men’s Lounge for pre-event activities or can alternatively be used to host smaller private functions.
In addition to the remarkable renovations completed through the pandemic, The Crystal Plaza Group has implemented rigorous procedures to mitigate the spread of the COVID-19 virus within their events. These procedures include socially distanced indoor seating arrangements, gloved and masked staff, health checks for all employees and thorough pre-event sanitation.
The project is another milestone in its 104-year history, as during their longevity they have dealt with very tough national circumstances such as 9/11 and Hurricane Sandy. The team at Crystal Plaza is assured they are prepared to host events for the next 100 years and is ready for a successful year.
