The Library Association of Rockland County (LARC) invites the community to lace up for Rockland's libraries at its first-ever LARC in the Park 5k Run/Walk, to be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025 at scenic Rockland Lake State Park, located at 299 Rockland Lake Rd., Valley Cottage, NY.
This event aims to bring together library supporters and fitness enthusiasts in a spirited day of movement and community engagement. Proceeds from the race will support the LARC Scholarship Fund for members pursuing a Masters in Library and Information Science, and professional development for members of LARC, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting and promoting Rockland County’s public libraries.
Participants may opt to run or walk the 5k path around the lake, and are welcome to run or walk with strollers. The first 100 registrants will receive a free insulated cooler bag. Awards will be given to the overall top male and female finishers, as well as the top three finishers in each age group. Race day activities include a “Dewey Decimal Dash” mini race for children ages 10 and under, free of charge. (Please note that pets are not permitted at the park.)
