WPWDB Welcomes New Board Members: Jan Fisher and Laurence Gottlieb

The Westchester-Putnam Workforce Development Board (WPWDB) has added two new members: Jan Fisher, Executive Director, Nonprofit Westchester (NPW), and Laurence Gottlieb, RMC BIO1 Managing Director, Life Sciences and Health Technologies at the Robert Martin Company. WPWDB is dedicated to connecting Westchester and Putnam jobseekers to area businesses who need a skilled workforce. It has the tools and information that both job applicants and businesses need, as well as a place to find and register for workshops, training, orientations, and more.

“Jan Fisher has been a member of the nonprofit community in Westchester for more than 25 years making her leadership role at NPW a natural fit,” says Thom Kleiner, Executive Director. “NPW is the county’s only membership organization dedicated solely to advocating for and advancing the needs of Westchester’s nonprofit sector, their workforce and the people they serve—it is at the forefront of the day-to-day issues facing county employers and residents.” She holds a bachelor’s degree from New York University and a master’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership from Fordham University’s Gabriella School of Business and the School of Social Service.

Laurence Gottlieb’s career has been spent in service as a top communicator, strategic leader and community builder for major corporations, public affairs agencies, and a global non-profit. He has held numerous high-level positions including CEO for Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation (HVEDC), Westchester County Director of Economic Development, Managing Director/New York Market Leader for Burson-Marsteller, Director of Communications for Entergy, and Director of Marketing for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, among others. “This is Larry's second appointment to the WPWDB and we know he will continue to help regional job seekers and businesses,” says David Singer, WPWDB Chair. Gottlieb is a Pace University cum laude graduate and has completed Executive Education programs at Harvard Business School and the Yale School of Management.

THE WESTCHESTER-PUTNAM WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD (WPWDB) is comprised of leaders and staff of state and county government agencies, non-profits, public education, and the private sector who work together to strengthen the partnerships between business, education, and service providers within the “Career Center Network” to meet the needs for a skilled workforce.
