Richard Skipper returns to Valley Cottage Library on Thursday, August 14 at 7:00 PM with his new show, Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Richard Skipper.... Now in his fourth engagement at the library, Skipper brings a joyful, unscripted evening of stories, songs, and surprises—fueled entirely by the audience’s curiosity.
This special performance marks 46 years since Richard arrived in New York City to pursue his dreams in entertainment, and 35 years as a proud Rockland County resident, based in Sparkill. It’s more than a cabaret—it’s a living conversation about life, art, and the people who shape us.
“What makes this show unique,” says Skipper, “is that I never know what’s coming. The audience writes the script—literally. I just follow the thread.”
Skipper, best known for his celebrated series Richard Skipper Celebrates, is a dynamic entertainer who has charmed audiences in New York, London, Palm Springs, and Provincetown. A longtime champion of Broadway legacy and personal storytelling, his recent appearance at The Laurie Beechman Theatre in NYC was met with a standing-room-only audience and rave reviews.
According to BroadwayWorld's Stephen Sorokoff, “Richard Skipper is a highly entertaining and knowledgeable fellow who has had an action-packed career in show business... The man has a gift in communicating a lyric.”
The Valley Cottage Library show is free and open to the public, though seating is limited and reservations are recommended.
