The childhood home of TV and movie star Hayden Panettiere in the secluded Palisades enclave of Snedens Landing is on the market for $3,999,500 with Ellis Sotheby’s International Realty.

Panettiere, who was born in Palisades to actress Lesley Vogel and FDNY firefighter Skip Panettiere, lived in the home from about 1998 to 2013. The 35-year-old actress, who started her career in soap operas, is known for her role in the TV shows Heroes and Nashville, and the movie Remember the Titans.

Located at 129 Washington Spring Road, the late 20th century French-style country home was built in 1988 and renovated by the current owners after they purchased it in 2021. Nicknamed French Ivy House, the four-bedroom, four-bathroom home has a mansard roof; covered porch; crank-out casement windows with arched tops; barrel-shaped dormers; two-car garage; and  ivy-covered stucco walls.

Richard Ellis, listing agent and broker/owner of Ellis Sotheby’s International Realty in Nyack, said the 3,500-square-foot home can be purchased completely furnished for a fee.

Exterior improvements include a new roof, fresh stucco, bluestone walkways, stone walls and patio, sod, gas firepit, barbecue, fencing, garage doors and an extensive lighting system. A secondary wing features a separate entrance suited for a home office or extended family.

The home’s interior was renovated with quarter-sawn oak floors and large slab Italian marble floors, kitchen and butler pantry with cabinetry and marble counter tops; Sub-Zero appliances; hand-painted murals on silver-leaf paper in the dining room and butler's pantry; silk wallpaper; two gas fireplaces; and marble bathrooms. Additional highlights include a Sonos speaker system inside and out; second-floor den with wet bar; and California closets.

The property’s grounds feature stone walls and patio; a garden plan with multiple water features, including a koi pond with water lilies and frogs; daffodil and tulip plantings; and a wall of trees in the rear.

“The home’s renovation exemplifies how thoughtful design can breathe new life into a charming gem while adapting it for modern living,” Ellis said. “The home feels like it was built in a different time, with a fun layout, two staircases and lots of nooks and crannies."
