Rockland Community College’s Hospitality and Culinary Arts Center is excited to announce the Fall 2024 Enthusiast Class Schedule, a series of nutrition and cooking lessons available to food lovers throughout the community. The popular program was recognized as the “Best Cooking Class” in Hudson Valley Magazine’s 2022 Best of Hudson Valley competition, while Chef’s Pencil, an international food magazine, ranked RCC’s Culinary Arts program sixth in their top ten programs in New York.

The Food Enthusiast Program is launching with the class Oktoberfest, offered on October 2nd from 6:30 to 9 pm at the Center, located at 70 Main Street in Nyack. Join Chef Steve for a hands-on class celebrating a traditional Bavarian Feast. Participants will learn to make Bavarian Pork Jager Schnitzel with wild mushroom sauce, warm German potato salad, and finish the meal with indulgent Black Forest Brownies.

Upon arrival, attendees will be welcomed with snacks, and afterward, they'll get to take home their own culinary masterpiece, personalized to their taste.

“Our Food Enthusiast Program is all about bringing people together over a shared love of food,” said Mark Davidoff, RCC Director of the Hospitality & Culinary Arts Center and Foodservice. “I’ve seen people who’ve never picked up a chef’s knife before leaving the class with a newfound confidence and passion for cooking. Our goal is to create an environment where everyone feels inspired and leaves with something they can proudly serve at home.”

Whether you're a seasoned chef or a culinary novice, our classes offer something for everyone. All food, equipment, and supplies are provided in our state-of-the-art facility. We limit the class size to 20 people, which equates to two people per cooking station. The cost is $70 per person.

Mark your calendar for other Food Enthusiast Program events, including:

October 16 – Fall Sugar & Spice with a Halloween Treat
November 6 – Knife Skills & Butchering for Your Meal
November 21 – Holiday Entertaining

December 4 – Asian Appetizers
December 18 – Holiday Seasonal Showstopper
