“The Landing,” a waterfront mansion in Grand View-on-Hudson with river views from almost every room is on the market for $4,495,000 with Ellis Sotheby’s International Realty.

Located at 74 River Road, the private 4,800-square foot, multi-level home features four bedrooms, six baths, a dock with private beach, elevator, in-ground pool with spa, fireplace, three-car garage with two electric car charging stations, and a glass wall facing the water from multiple levels. A freestanding 400-square-foot studio building also sits on the 0.39-acre lot.

The 19th century home, originally built in 1860 as a Queen Anne Victorian known as the Coles Mansion, maintains its original architectural design with a reimagined interior and exterior for 21st century waterfront living.

Listing agent Richard Ellis described the mansion as a “great full-time residence or weekend home. Every system, including window, door, flooring, wall, kitchen, bath and mechanical, has been dramatically replaced,” he said. “A modern floorplan, with large open spaces laid out over four to five levels makes this home like no other.”

In 1891 the home's entire rear property was rebuilt, leveled and built up as a flat lawn and garden. Its bulkhead design has been reinforced to protect the home from nature’s elements, Ellis added. Around 2015, the current owners worked with an architect and designers to add finishes such Venetian plaster, rice paper, marble, stone and metal tile, with multiple windows and glass doors to see the Hudson River from almost every room.

Interior highlights include a state-of-the-art kitchen with a built-in seating alcove facing the river; bar stool seating; double Sub-Zeros refrigerators, six-burner Wolf cook top with griddle, Miele double ovens, coffee station and dishwashers. A second kitchen on the entertainment level offers two Sub-Zero refrigerators with full size wine fridge and induction cooktop.

Outdoors, a cabana area that functions as another kitchen and entertainment area opens to the pool and patio in the rear yard, which also features a basketball area and fire pits.

The home is located in the Town of Orangetown and the South Orangetown School District. Annual taxes are estimated at $36,289, according to Sotheby's.
