Rockland Community College (RCC) is excited to introduce a partnership with SUNY Empire State University, introducing an innovative 2+2 Nursing Program. This initiative allows students to seamlessly progress from an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) at RCC to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) through online coursework provided by SUNY Empire State University, earning both degrees in just four years.

Starting in the fall of 2024, students can enroll in the 2+2 Nursing and graduate with dual nursing degrees. The program is designed to help aspiring nurses advance their careers while remaining in their local community.

“Rockland Community College is thrilled to announce our partnership with SUNY Empire State University. This program not only enhances career prospects for aspiring nurses but also provides the convenience and affordability essential for our local community. We are proud to offer an accessible and seamless educational experience that empowers our students to advance their nursing careers while staying close to home,” said Dr. Maureen Kroning, Dean of the School of Nursing, Health & Wellness.

The 2+2 Nursing Program offers numerous benefits, including convenience, affordability, and a seamless educational experience. The online BSN component provided by SUNY Empire makes it convenient for students residing in Rockland County to pursue their education without the need for extensive travel. This reduces costs and logistical challenges, making higher education accessible and affordable for Rockland County students.

“We are honored to partner with Rockland Community College on the 2+2 Nursing Program. SUNY Empire State University has a longstanding tradition of successfully delivering and providing access to an array of online programs. Our goal is to educate and inspire healthcare professionals who enhance the health of individuals, families, and their communities,” said Dr. Kim Stote, Dean, School of Nursing and Allied Health.
