PXG in New Rochelle recently hosted a Golf 101 Clinic with LPGA Professional Golfer Anya Alvarez. Attendees were all new to the sport and had a unique opportunity to work one-on-one with Alvarez as well as the Master Fitters at PXG. Business executives who don’t play golf often miss out on the valuable networking opportunities that come along with the sport. The goal of the event was to provide an introduction to golf as well as an opportunity to learn about how to swing a club and putt on the green.

“Many people are intimidated by golf and we want to change that. It is a fun sport that almost anyone can enjoy once they understand the basics and have a chance to swing and understand how and when to use the different clubs. I had a great time teaching the participants and look forward to returning for more clinics,” stated Alvarez.

PXG in New Rochelle is also hosting a series of free clinics through January focusing on irons and short game instruction. The clinics are for any level of golfer and are offered free, but spots are limited and reservations must be made in advance using this link https://tinyurl.com/pxgclinics.

In addition to being an LPGA professional, Anya Alvarez is a sportswriter and producer for outlets such as ESPN and CBS Sports. She started playing at the age of five and as a professional, qualified for the 2011 U.S. Women's Open in her first try. She also qualified for the LPGA Tour's final stage of the LPGA Qualifying School. In 2012, Alvarez qualified for the U.S. Women's Open for the second year in a row, played the Symetra Tour and finished her season with a 64 at the Champions Golf Club, in Daytona Beach, Florida.
